Meet Andy our Legend Pro Angler and Bream Fisherman Extraordinaire!

After years of playing scratch golf, a back injury forced me to look elsewhere for another sporting challenge. Having always been a keen angler as a teenager…I spent all holidays harassing bream, flathead and whiting in the estuaries and lakes of the South Coast of NSW…this seemed the way to go.

Always competitive, I soon heard about the various Tournament Fishing events around Australia. So with work mate and fishing partner Gary Thompson, we signed up and have since travelled the South East of Australia in the Vic Bream Series.

Although relatively new to this style of fishing, we have thrown ourselves into the deep end and have definitely become hooked. Recent good results have only deepened our enthusiasm and made us look at what we needed to do to fine tune our performance and give us the edge.

It was only a matter of time therefore before I started looking for the best performance boat available. Bass boats seemed to be the way to go and I spent months researching boats available in Australia and finally I made the all important phone call to Wayne at HyperMarine on the Gold Coast. Latest results for our LEGEND Pro Anglers Damien Domagala and Darryn Love 

Damien Domagala fished Gippsland Lakes in the ABT Bream Tournament, had motor troubles on day one – weighed in 2/5 for 1.765 kg and finished well down the leaderboard, day 2 he weighed in a great bag of bream 5/5  5.187 kg and finished a credible 6^th taking home $500, he’s non boater also did well finishing in 2^nd position.  Well done Damien.

Darryn Love fished with Tony Moore from Sportys  Fishing Tackle in the GTS teams event on the Gold Coast and finished in 5^th  position out of 53 teams  with a full bag of 5/5 for 2.16 kg.  Great effort on his second outing in his new LEGEND 211 Alpha, well done guys!

Here’s a bit about Shane – his recent fishing feats and why he bought a LEGEND from HyperMarine…

I am married with 2 children Aaron 10 and Rylee 12 (she is the next fisherman in the house) and Julie the very understanding wife that helps me with my addiction.  I have been fishing for as long as I can remember and tournament fishing for about 5 years coned into it by a very good mate Dean Gamble (thanks Dean)…

I have been reasonably happy with my results in the Vic bream tournaments and classic championships except I haven’t yet got the big one yet.  Have had every placing from 2nd to 15^th (and some we don’t want to know about)

• Vic bream mallacoota 03/11   2^nd  10.66kgs (72 entries )
• Classic championship 11/10  9th 6.58kgs
• Vic bream gippsland   08/10 2^nd  9.34kgs 
• ABT mallacoota   09 big bream 1.61kgs

Why buy a LEGEND ?  Well, here’s what I think…

I have been looking to upgrade my aluminum boat for 12 months now for a more comfortable ride with a bit more room and Speed.  I’ve looked at a lot of boats, asked a lot of questions and haven’t had a lot of feedback from the dealers until I came across WAYNE at HYPERMARINE.  The feedback, service and information I have received has been exceptional.

Andy Heskett’s Alpha 191 – another great custom colour combination this time by Andy in Silver | Red | Black – the depth of these colours and the Legend finish just have to be seen in the flesh. 

Steve Otto’s sensational looking boat.  Legend US say that pictures do not do justice to the colour.  In their opinion it will be one of the best looking boats they have ever produced.  Sure looking forward to seeing this one.

Legend Pro Angler Adrian Neoh teamed up with Wayne Reed to fish the ABT Forster Megabream Tournament. Adrian and Wayne finished in 1^st position in session 1 winning $3,400. In session 2 they finished a credible 6^th and weighed in Big Bream for the session netting them a further $500. They also received a Minn Kota Battery Charger for overall Big Bream of the Tournament. It was a great effort from Adrian and Wayne finishing in overall  2^nd position for the Tournament for the weekend, well done guys!
