After years of playing scratch golf, a back injury forced me to look elsewhere for another sporting challenge. Having always been a keen angler as a teenager…I spent all holidays harassing bream, flathead and whiting in the estuaries and lakes of the South Coast of NSW…this seemed the way to go.

Always competitive, I soon heard about the various Tournament Fishing events around Australia. So with work mate and fishing partner Gary Thompson, we signed up and have since travelled the South East of Australia in the Vic Bream Series.

Although relatively new to this style of fishing, we have thrown ourselves into the deep end and have definitely become hooked. Recent good results have only deepened our enthusiasm and made us look at what we needed to do to fine tune our performance and give us the edge.

It was only a matter of time therefore before I started looking for the best performance boat available. Bass boats seemed to be the way to go and I spent months researching boats available in Australia and finally I made the all important phone call to Wayne at HyperMarine on the Gold Coast. After an hour on the phone with Wayne the decision was made extremely easy…a “Legend” boat was for me. The Alpha 191 fits the bill exactly…and my garage.

On first viewing, the boat’s overall presentation just blew me away and since I have been just amazed that I can’t think of another thing the boat needs…“Legend” boats have just thought of everything. Welcome to our latest Victorian LEGEND Pro Angler Shane Barling.  Shane has just ordered the amazing Alpha 199 with a 225 Pro XS.

A bit about Shane….I am married with 2 children Aaron 10 and Rylee 12 (she is the next fisherman in the house) and Julie the very understanding wife that helps me with my addiction.  I have been fishing for as long as I can remember and tournament fishing for about 5 years coned into it by a very good mate Dean Gamble (thanks Dean)

I have been reasonably happy with my results in the Vic bream tournaments and classic championships except I haven’t yet got the big one yet.  Have had every placing from 2nd to 15^th (and some we don’t want to know about)

Why buy a LEGEND ?

I have been looking to upgrade my aluminum boat for 12 months now for a more comfortable ride with a bit more room and speed.  I’ve looked at a lot of boats, asked a lot of questions and haven’t had a lot of feedback from the dealers until I came across WAYNE at HYPERMARINE.  The feedback, service and information I have received has been exceptional.

I received my Legend Alpha 199 mid January 2010 after a long and anticipated wait it finally arrived and was better looking than I thought it would be.  The fit out was exceptional and I was about to take it on its first run in the 2010 ABT Gippsland Lakes Qualifier.

With the wind howling at 35 Knots I had no hesitation making the 33 km run across the lake system which is well known for its rough waters.

I don’t think there would be much I wouldn’t take on in the Alpha 199.

I live in Traralgon Gippsland and have dedicated my last 3 years of spare time trying to better my knowledge of catching Bream on lures and plastics.

I don’t think that I have enjoyed a sport as much as the tournament scene here in Australia, and since upgrading to the Legend Alpha 199 w 225 ProXS it has been a pleasure competing in these tournaments.

The ride and control of the 199 is second to none and I feel very safe in all of the conditions the Bream arenas can throw at us.  Fishing stability is excellent and I am overly happy with my purchase.

Welcome to our Legend Pro Angler Steve Otto from the Sunshine Coast.  Steve & Lyndell have ordered a LEGEND Alpha 191 with 200HP Pro XS Mercury…

Lyndell and I have been competing in singles and team events in bass fishing tournaments for the last 5 years.  Between us we have both had credible finishes against the best bass anglers in the country and are looking forward to 2011 when we will be fishing out of, what we believe to be, the finest bass boat in the industry.

DARRYN LOVE

Welcome to our latest Legend Pro Angler Darryn Love from Brisbane.  Darryn has just received his amazing LEGEND Alpha 211 with a 250 Pro XS Merc fully loaded with options.  Darryn is often seen at the top Bream tournaments all over Aus.  More about Darryn below:

I started fishing lures about three years ago when Anthony Wishey got me hooked on it and talked me into joining the bream tournament scene.  In a short time competing, I have had some good team and individual results the highlight of which was finishing 9th in the QLD AOY in 2010 and qualifying for my first individual abt grand final.

I live in Brisbane so Moreton Bay is the place I love to fish and now with the Legend Alpha 211′s great ability in rough water I will be able to get to the spots I need to fish in comfort.  The bream circuit takes me to all kinds of waterways along the east coast from the open water at Redcliffe to the long runs up the Clarence river, so choosing the Alpha 211 hull gave me the best of both with its top end speed and the smooth ride in rough water.  Also, all of the features on the 211 make a day out on the water more pleasurable.

G’day! I was introduced to lure fishing about 10 years ago by my then girl friend Michelle, a keen lure fisherman herself. I have been a lure addict ever since. I started fishing comps about 5 years ago with good mate Mark Cribbes. We have had some success in that time including:

• 1st 2008 Vic Bream Hopkins River Classic
• 4th 2009 Vic Bream Grand final (Metung)
• Top 10 Vic Bream Team of the Year Rankings for the last three years
• Qualified for Vic Bream Grand Final last 4 years along with other top ten finishes in this period.

Welcome to our Legend Pro Adrian Neoh – teamed with Mark Healey, they took out the 2010 BETS Grand Final!   Adrian has his custom built Alpha 211 on order.  Meet Adrian:

From as early as I can remember, weekends meant chasing black bream on bait in the Patterson Lakes system. Naturally, it progressed to targeting bream on lures in Melbourne’s CBD. Sight casting at big fish cruising around pylons produced some memorable moments.

I started fishing competitively after moving to Lake Macquarie. Here I soon became addicted to chasing flighty yellowfin bream on surface lures in ultra shallow water. A typical day on the lake, and in most tournaments, usually involves travelling fair distances in sometimes very ordinary conditions. Speed and rough water ride were two key factors in choosing my next bream boat. Combine that with a high-class finish and the exceptional customer service at HyperMarine – purchasing a LEGEND boat was an easy decision.

Gidday,  I m Ben Hill a self employed builder from Tasmania aged 31. I grew up trout fishing the highland lakes for trout from the age of 3 with my Dad. I eventually caught the soft plastic bug then started chasing the elusive black bream.

I am now addicted to them and spend all of my spare time fishing for them on the North East coast of Tasmania.  I especially love flats fishing with hardbodies.  I am really looking forward to getting my new Legend Alpha 191 as in my opinion, it has a great list of standard features at a great price.
